As SME business owners we have to cover all the bases in our business. Sales, Customer Support, Financing, Planning and the one most business owners give the big swerve, marketing. Generally business owners have domain expertise, that’s why we started the business, because we know we can provide the best product or service in our field.
But nothing happens without marketing your products and services and very few business owners have the time to really study marketing their business. Most of us follow the same thing we have always done and hope word of mouth referrals will spread the word.
So we decided to come up with a marketing strategy for your business which will, build your customer base and take less than 15 minutes per week to implement a marketing campaign. The results will surprise you.
Get a Permission system going
Every customer that comes into your shop should have the opportunity to give you permission to send out future offers and promotions to them. Run competitions, in-store draws or flash prize giving with the intention of increasing your customer list.
We have lots of experience of this and can show you some good ways to do it
Send out your offers to this list once a month
Join an email or SMS marketing service and send out an offer once a month. Some people prefer to email their customers, other use direct communication with SMS. Some quick statistics, 98% of SMS are opened within 3 minutes of receipt and the response rate on SMS is 11% across all industries. Email has a 2% open rate.
Sending an SMS once a month will take you less than 10 minutes to come up with the offer, type it into the SMS service and send it. Most world class providers ( like us 🙂 ) have some cool features like sending an image by SMS so you can send your flyer or brochures to your customers directly.
I hope you found this helpful in some way and thank you for taking the time to read our blog. We love the feedback we receive from everyone and it is our customers and blog readers who drive the innovation in our SMS Marketing service.
